Stainless steel tees as heat-resistant fittings for high-temperature applications
Stainless steel tees are fittings used to create branches on existing pipelines – reliably, in compliance with the relevant standards and with lasting load-bearing capacity. The tees from WITTE HiTEMP are specifically designed for use under extreme thermal and chemical conditions. As heat-resistant fittings, they combine, split or branch pipe flows – reliably even under continuous high-temperature loads.
Made of proven stainless, high-temperature-resistant materials, our stainless steel tees offer a stable solution wherever standard fittings reach their thermal or chemical limits.
Which dimensions and materials are in stock?
WITTE HiTEMP stocks heat-resistant stainless steel tees in a wide range of dimensions, so many sizes are available at short notice. We can provide further dimensions through our worldwide network. We permanently stock tees in the following high-temperature materials:
● 1.4841 – seamless tees, 21.3 to 219.1 mm outside diameter
● 1.4845 – seamless tees, 21.3 to 219.1 mm outside diameter
● 1.4878 – tees for applications with combined temperature and oxidation requirements

To which standards are the tees manufactured and certified?
Our heat-resistant tees are manufactured to internationally recognised standards and are supplied as standard with inspection certificates to EN 10204. They meet DIN/EN and ASME requirements and can be used worldwide. Individual testing and documentation to customer-specific requirements are available on request. Our tees are available to the following standards, among others:
● EN 10253-4 A/B and EN 10253-3 – stainless steel pipe fittings
● ASTM A 403 and ASME B16.9 – for international use
● SEW 470 – for high-temperature-resistant materials
● Manufacture to drawing from bar stock – for individual special requirements
Equal or reducing branches – which designs are available?
Our stainless steel tees are available in different designs, allowing flexible adaptation to different pipeline layouts:
● Equal tee = main and branch diameters identical
● Reducing tee = smaller branch for branched systems with different nominal sizes
Both designs can be combined directly with our heat-resistant pipes and elbows made of the same high-temperature materials, forming the basis for complete, perfectly matched piping systems.
A special fitting: the barred tee
In piping systems in the food and pharmaceutical industries, cleaning is often carried out with a so-called pig: a small, rocket-shaped cleaning device that is driven through the lines by applied pressure. The challenge with conventional tees is that the pig can become jammed in the branch. The result: the line is blocked and the cleaning process is interrupted.
The barred tee (piggable tee) with an integrated bar reliably solves this problem. A specially designed bar inside the fitting prevents the pig from jamming and ensures an uninterrupted passage through the entire pipeline.
Machined from a solid block with a constant inside diameter, this component combines high manufacturing precision with clear practical benefits for hygienically demanding plants.
